A key factor in achieving effective protection
against virus attacks is to make use of dependable and up-to-date
antivirus software. There are a number of reputable, time-tested
companies from which this sort of software can be purchased. The

There are a number of factors to consider when
evaluating antivirus software products. Of course, there is price,

Buyers should consider the level of customer
and technical support provided by the company. Virus protection is
a technical business, and less experienced computer operators may
need someone to help them configure their software to meet their
needs.

factor when choosing a vendor. New viruses are discovered daily.
For any program to be effective there must be constant research and
development. An update service needs to be a part of the license
agreement, with new virus definitions available for automatic
download on a daily basis. This is an absolute must. Due to the
proliferation of new viruses, any antivirus program will be obsolete
on the day it is purchased. Updates at installation and daily
updates thereafter are the only way to be truly protected.
