Managing
Service and Change Requests
One of the duties of an HTML DB administrator is
to provide a new workspace, schema, and storage for a new project. An
Administrator can either create these manually or automatically
through the workspace request system. HTML DB must be in the Request
mode for the workspace request system to function. The workspace
request system allows a user to request the workspace, schema, and
storage. Information on the manual and automatic creation of
workspaces is contained elsewhere in this chapter.
When a requested is made, it will be put into a
pending status and placed in the request queue for the administrator
as shown in Figure 15.12.
The administrator can now act upon the request in
the manner that they wish. The request queue allows the administrator
to modify the request by clicking on the edit icon, delete the
request, email the requestor for more clarification, or accept/decline
the request. An appropriate email will be sent to the user if the
Administrator accepts or declines the request.
Users can also submit change requests to have
additional space added to a workspace or to have a new schema created
for a workspace. This queue is managed much the same way as the
Service requests. The Administrator can accept or decline the
request.
